Getting Started

The Web Mapping Application enables you to explore a map and find information useful to you.

How it works

The Web Mapping Application page has three main parts:
  • Along the top, a Toolbar with all the tools available for interacting with the map.
  • Map
  • Search and Help Panel on the left side. The search tools are specifically to Search for Parcels and Zoom to a selected City or Township. There are also links to this help file and to the Frequently Asked Questions.

Working with the Search and Help Panel

You can hide and then show the Search and Help Panel as needed. Clck the white arrows just to the left of the map to hide the Panel. Click the arrows (which now points to the right) again to show the Panel.

You can resize the area used by the Panel by clicking and dragging the divider between the Panel and the Map. This allows more room to view either area as you work.

Working with Floating Windows

Some elements, such as the Measure window and the Overview window, may be moved around the page, collapsed, resized and closed. You can arrange these elements to suit your own work.

To move elements, click and hold with the left mouse button on the title bar of the element. As you hover over the element's title bar, the cursor changes to a four-way arrow, indicating you can move it by clicking and dragging.

You can expand and collapse the content of a Floating Window as needed. Click the minimize/maximize image to collapse or expand the Floating Window content:

The content of the section is hidden but not deleted. Expand the section to see the content again.

Floating Windows can be resized in width and height. To resize a Floating Window, move the cursor to the side or bottom of the window, until the arrows appear. Click and hold the left mouse button, and drag the section to the left/right or up/down to resize.
You can also resize the window through the bottom right corner.

Close a moveable window by clicking the close button it its upper right corner. Most such windows may be re-opened from the appropriate location. For example, the Measure and Overview windows may be re-opened from the Toolbar.
